Pet Bakery
Business

A pet bakery business is one of my terrific pet business ideas for individuals who love to bake and want to provide quality treats for “Fido” and “Whiskers”.Get your own pet bakery service started by providing top quality fresh and healthy pet food treats.

This business can be started on its own or combined with other pet business ideas such as pet food delivery or your pet walking service.

One of our friends had a successful pet bakery business where she made certified organic dog treats for pet owners and "Fido".

She had a great time with the business and worked at a variety of different festivals and summer events to get the word out about her treats.  People loved to be walking their dog in the park or through the event and grab a few treats for "Fido" and be on their way . . .

This could be you --  :)

Develop your own recipes incorporating high-quality ingredients good for your customer’s pets. Mix up your “terrific treats”, mold into cute shapes, and bake. Wow! Treats “Fido” and “Whiskers” will love!!

Market your business to private pet owners, doggie day care owners, and pet shops. Make treats for a variety of different occasions and holidays – Christmas, Easter, Birthdays, 4th of July, and Halloween.

This is a good business idea you can start in the comfort of your own home and involve the kids by experimenting with different recipes.

Test your treats with your own pets (or ask friends to use their pets!) to find specific ingredients and recipes they gobble up!  And make sure to determine the most healthy and best tasting for your customers.

Of course, today many pet owners now require certified organic treats for their pets and won't settle for anything less -- and they are savvy shoppers who know the difference.  If you're unfamiliar with the different types of "natural" pet foods, here's an interesting article on the topic and you may get some ideas for additional niches for your business and good marketing!

Get the word out about your pet bakery business through pet shop owners and veterinarians.

Niche Notes!!

1) Provide gourmet, organic, vegetarian, weight management, and food allergy pet food/treats.

2) Add to your pet food delivery business and provide healthy options for "Fido" and "Whiskers".

3) For a good summer treat, provide snow cones for dogs (without the sugary syrup) adding your specialty beef or chicken broth.

4) Specialize in “doggy” birthday cakes, cupcakes for “Whiskers”, or pet biscuits for all. Decorate with doggie icing and a new toy. . . Ruf!

5) How about fresh quality food products for birds, horses, rabbits, and other small animals?

6) Package your goodies together in a pet gift basket or new pet bowl! Outstanding!!
